As a photographer I have the wonderful privilege of meeting some pretty amazing people and being a part of their once-in-a-lifetime memories. Besides getting to cuddle with tiny newborns and chasing toddlers, my favorite part of being a photographer is being able to capture those special moments that will be enjoyed for years to come.
I love soft, dreamy light, neutral tones, texture and emotion in my images. I love catching the natural smile of a child, the soft new skin of a newborn and the connection families have with one another. I believe in capturing people naturally and simply. This, to me, is what makes images timeless.
My love for photography started when I was very young, taking rolls and rolls of pictures during family events and vacations. That love grew as I took many photography classes in college using my Dad’s old Pentax. I was hooked from the start and would “see” photographs wherever I’d go…pulling over on the side of the road to snap a picture of the Iowa countryside at sunset or wildflowers growing in the ditch.
It wasn’t until I had my first baby that my love for photography grew to a whole new level. I didn’t want to miss out on any little moment and made sure I captured all of those once-in-a-lifetime memories. I have since had 3 more babies and I feel so lucky that I was able to capture those tiny little details that change so quickly.
SOME THINGS I LOVE...
God, my husband, my 4 girls, photos, dreamy light, Cadbury caramel eggs, home design, lace and linen, home projects, Friday night movie night, white and gold, antiquing, a clean house, and watching (crying through) “Parenthood”.
